Work independently performing Echos, stress Echo and contract Echo as per CCN protocol in a busy clinical environment.
Obtain vitals, height and weight on all patients
Contact physician if critical pathology noted as per policy.
Evaluate different aspects of the heart, such as chamber size, valve function and blood flow.
Using GE viewpoint software to create preliminary reports
Review patient charts and be familiar with basic cardiac conditions in order to recognize and identify any abnormalities.
Inputting relevant patient information into appropriate medical/computer system.
Prepare accurate reports for physician interpretation.
Basic troubleshooting when required.
Effective communication (written and verbal), organization and interpersonal skills
Explaining procedures to patients in a kind and reassuring manner.
Clean and maintain Ultrasound equipment.
Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Demonstrate ability to effectively relate to client/patient population and possess exceptional bed side manners.
During periods of downtime it is expected that sonographer will assist with holter set up and cleaning, and assist front desk staff as directed by the office manager.

Education, Training and Experience
Graduate of a recognized program in Diagnostic Medical Adult Sonography
Registered with A.R.D.M.S. and/or C.A.R.D.U.P.
Certification in Cardiac Imaging and adult echocardiography.
Follow complete protocol as per Cardiac Care Network requirements for perform adult sonography.
Perform full protocol resting Echos and Stress Echos.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Maintain educational requirements by attending RVH echo rounds.
Requirements:
Completion of a recognized post diploma Echocardiography program
At least one year of recent experience as an Echo Sonographer
CMRITO Specialty certification for Echocardiography
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in basic computer knowledge such as MS Word and Outlook.
