Job Description

The

Saskatoon Early Years Family Resource Centre (SEYFRC)

offers programming, services, and resources for families with young children, prenatal to age five. The Centre aims to provide positive early learning experiences and opportunities for families to connect, grow, and learn together in a welcoming and supportive environment.


The

Program Facilitator

plays a vital role in creating an inclusive, engaging, and enriching space for children and families. This position requires someone who is enthusiastic, creative, culturally responsive, and passionate about early childhood development, family engagement, and delivering meaningful programming.

Job Duties

Develop and implement program activities in collaboration with Program Designers and the Centre Coordinator Create activities and crafts for children aged 0-5 years Connect families to community resources and professionals Facilitate engaging, age-appropriate learning opportunities for children (prenatal to age 5) and their families Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment for diverse families, including new parents, caregivers, single parents, low-income families, Indigenous families, children with varying abilities, and new Canadians Participate in day-to-day centre operations (organizing, cleaning, planning, data recording, and other tasks) Support promotion, communications, and outreach as needed (including attending community events, supporting social media, and related tasks)

Required Skills and Competencies

A valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation is required, as this position involves travel within Saskatoon for outreach programs, community events, and other work-related purposes Preference will be given to applicants with an ECE certificate or diploma, or equivalency of ECE Level I, II, or III. Other relevant education (such as a bachelor's degree in a human service field--education, social sciences, psychology, sociology, etc.) and experience is also acceptable Experience working with children five years of age and younger Ability to take initiative in planning and implementing meaningful programs for children and families Flexibility and creativity to meet the needs of families accessing the centre Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Demonstrated respectful, empathetic, and collaborative approach with colleagues and families Consistent professionalism in communication, appearance, conduct, and confidentiality Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.) Proficiency in Canva for developing visual content Strong creativity and planning abilities Experience working with diverse populations Knowledge of community resources Ability to think creatively and outside the box Music, storytelling, or other artistic abilities are assets * Fluency in languages in addition to English is considered an asset
