Position Overview
The EarlyON Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and quality of programs and services at the Centre. This role balances direct program delivery, staff supervision, administration, and community engagement. The Coordinator works closely with the Senior Program Manager for strategic alignment and reporting, and with the Indigenous Cultural Coordinator to integrate cultural safety and land-based learning. They also work alongside program staff to deliver inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and family-centred programs.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Delivery
Plan, coordinate, deliver alongside, and evaluate a full range of EarlyON programs including play-based drop-in, parenting groups, virtual programming, prenatal supports, and community outreach. Incorporate How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH), ELECT, and Pyramid Model practices into program design. Ensure programming is flexible, inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and reflective of community demographics. Evaluate program quality through staff reflection, family feedback, and data analysis, and adapt programming accordingly.
Staff Supervision & Team Development
Train, mentor, and supervise EarlyON staff, students, and volunteers. Provide regular performance feedback, one-on-one supervision, and annual performance reviews. Support professional development plans for team members, including training in cultural safety, inclusive practices, and trauma-informed approaches. Ensure consistent implementation of behaviour guidance and maintain a positive and supportive program culture.
Family & Community Engagement
Build strong, trusting relationships with families and caregivers, engaging directly with parents and children in program delivery. Provide referrals to community services and supports as needed. Collaborate actively with local partners including schools, child care centre, public health, and municipal partners. Promote EarlyON services through outreach events, presentations, and community engagement opportunities. Gather and respond to family feedback to continuously improve program offerings.
Administration, Data & Compliance
Manage day-to-day operations of the programs to ensure smooth and safe program delivery. Complete administrative tasks including scheduling, payroll submissions, and staff timesheets. Maintain accurate
attendance, reporting, and data entry. Manage program budgets, authorize expenditures, and prepare variance reports in collaboration with the Senior Program Manager. Ensure compliance with Ministry guidelines, health and safety standards, and agency policies, including equity, anti-racism, child protection, and reconciliation standards.

Qualifications
oDiploma/Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child & Youth, Social Services, Family Support, or related field.
oRECE designation, in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
oMinimum 3-5 years of experience in early years/child and family services, with at least 2 years in a leadership or coordination role.
oKnowledge of child development, parenting support, HDLH, ELECT, Pyramid Model, and trauma-informed practices.
oCommitment to equity, inclusion, and reconciliation; experience working with Indigenous families and communities is an asset.
oLeadership, coaching, organizational, and communication skills.
oProficiency in MS Office and relevant reporting systems.
oCurrent Standard First Aid/CPR, clear Vulnerable Sector Check and CPIN Children's Aid Check.
oValid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
