These full-time positions within the Association are housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario\xe2\x80\x99s Durham location in Greater Sudbury and Markstay. Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Child, Youth and Family Development (CYFD), the Early Learning Facilitator is responsible for the health, safety and well-being of the children in their care (0 to 12 years. The Early Learning Facilitator will ensure all YMCA Policies, Procedures and legislations as outlined in the Ministry of Education\xe2\x80\x99s Child Care Early Year Act (2014) are complaint at all times. START DATE: As soon as possible LOCATION: Sudbury, ON RATE OF PAY: $39,998.40 per year HOURS: 40 per week Major Responsibilities \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide effective supervision of children at all times to ensure their overall health, safety and well-being \xe2\x80\xa2 Complete attendance as children arrive and depart and conduct regular head counts \xe2\x80\xa2 Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality educational programming, by following the YMCA\xe2\x80\x99s National curricula\xe2\x80\x99s, YMCA Playing to Learn\xe2\x84\xa2, A Place to Connect\xe2\x84\xa2 , YMCA Zen-ergy and Healthy Childhood Development, i.e., program planning, documentation, and health and safety reports/checklists, assess and track the children\xe2\x80\x99s skills, abilities, interests and needs through written documentation and open communication with families and approved community partners \xe2\x80\xa2 Conduct opening and closing safety scans of the environment before the children arrive and at the end of the day (indoors and outdoors) \xe2\x80\xa2 Record and track (live) the attendance of the children as they arrive and depart, always matching the children in care at all times Qualifications \xe2\x80\xa2 Two-year diploma or degree related to children, youth, recreation or physical literacy \xe2\x80\xa2 Membership and in good standing with your affiliated professional College \xe2\x80\xa2 Public Health\xe2\x80\x99s Food Safety Handlers Course \xe2\x80\xa2 Current Standard First Aid with CPR (Level C) *Recognized by the WSIB \xe2\x80\xa2 Specialized training and/or experience with children with specialized needs is considered an asset \xe2\x80\xa2 Certification in YMCA curricula\xe2\x80\x99s: YMCA Playing to Learn\xe2\x84\xa2, A Place to Connect\xe2\x84\xa2 \xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum of two (2) years working with children and/or youth \xe2\x80\xa2 Solid knowledge of the Child Care & Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) \xe2\x80\xa2 Ministry Director Approved (DA) only: Able to coach, mentor and support Early Learning Assistant, Early Learning Facilitator and placement students as required \xe2\x80\xa2 Flexible working hours, able to work split shifts, early morning, mid-late afternoons, evenings Monday to Friday, weekends, or as per the centre\xe2\x80\x99s operational hours \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bilingualism is considered an asset) \xe2\x80\xa2 Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with compassion, sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of everyone including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity \xe2\x80\xa2 Capacity to work within a team and be part of a large multi-service, charitable Association \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledge of child care operations considered an asset \xe2\x80\xa2 Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector HOW TO APPLY If you would like to work in a family friendly environment, please apply, by website only, with a cover letter and resume to the attention of the Personnel Committee.
