We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Provider to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children, ensuring their well-being while promoting their development through engaging activities.
Responsibilities
Supervise and engage with children in a safe and caring environment.
Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development.
Provide caregiving support, including meal preparation, hygiene assistance, and emotional support.
Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging social skills and cooperative play.
Maintain a clean and organized classroom setting that is conducive to learning.
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about children's progress and any concerns.
Adapt activities to meet the needs of children with disabilities or special requirements.
Observe and document children's behavior and development to assess their progress.
The Supervisor is responsible for the general operation of the daycare in compliance with all municipal, provincial and federal regulations and is accountable to the Board of Directors.
The Supervisor ensures that the policies and procedures set forth by the Board of Directors are always followed. The incumbent is responsible for all daycare programming, financial viability and staffing requirements.
Requirements
Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is preferred.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles is highly desirable.
Strong caregiving skills, including patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with children.
Ability to create an inclusive environment for all children, including those with disabilities.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
A commitment to fostering a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages learning and growth.
Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and the needs of the children.
