Job Overview:



Almosthome Childcare/Preschool Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to take on the role of Team Lead in a 3-5 year old classroom. This role requires a passionate individual committed to fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young children while efficiently managing the day-to-day operations of our established childcare center.

Key Responsibilities:



Early Childhood Educator:



Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs and activities. Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that meets the developmental needs of children. Observe and document children's progress and development, communicating with parents regularly. Ensure compliance with all VIHA licensing requirements and health and safety regulations. Foster a positive, collaborative atmosphere among children, staff, and families.

Centre Manager:



Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. Lead, mentor, and support a team of 2 other full time staff members, subs and occasional practicum students. Conduct tours for prospective families, showcasing the center's programs and facilities. Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, company policies, and procedures. Handle administrative duties such as center child/staff files being up to date, and documentation. Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, and the community. Address and resolve conflicts or issues that arise within the center promptly and effectively. Implement and maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and overall facility management.

Qualifications:



Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification. A minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education. At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong knowledge of child development theories and practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Proficiency in administrative tasks and familiarity with childcare management software is an asset. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with best practices in early childhood education.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 42.5 per week
