Job Description

The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) in the Toddler Room is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children aged 18 to 36 months. This position plays a key role in supporting toddlers' social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based, emergent curriculum and responsive caregiving.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide responsive and consistent care to toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs. Create a welcoming, inclusive environment that reflects the diversity of the children and families. Ensure a safe and hygienic classroom by following licensing regulations and organizational policies. Document observations of children's development and contribute to portfolios and reports. Communicate daily with families regarding their child's experiences and well-being. Guide toddlers using positive behavior guidance techniques aligned with Almosthome's philosophy. Collaborate with team members to maintain a cohesive and respectful working environment. Attend team meetings, professional development sessions, and contribute to curriculum planning. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications:

Valid ECE Certificate to Practice in British Columbia. Current Criminal Record Check. Current First Aid Certification. Minimum 1 year of experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care setting preferred. Ability to work collaboratively, take initiative, and adapt to the needs of a busy toddler room.

Pay: $28.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 42.5 per week
