Skyview Early Learning Village is a new Early Childhood Centre that provides care and education for children 19 mnths to 5 years. We promote and enhance the learning and development of children in a safe, nurturing and co-constructing environment. Each child is acknowledged as a strong, resourceful, and capable learner and citizen. We provide purposeful intergenerational programming to strengthen community ties across generations and improve the quality of life for children, seniors, families and caregivers. Flight, Alberta's Early Learning and Care Curriculum Framework guides our practice with children and families.
Supervise the children at all times indoors and outdoors which includes, but is not limited to, play time indoors and outdoors, eating, rest, and field trips.
Guide the children in their physical, emotional, social, creative and intellectual development in accordance with the philosophy and needs of the children and centre.
Work with a group of children while keeping the individual needs of child in mind.
Support the successful inclusion of the child with exceptionalities, by reinforcing their social and personal skills.
Work in a variety of climates, and prepared and dressed accordingly.
To observe signs of ill health of the children and document the findings daily.
Prepare individual children's progress reports and share with families.
Complete medication, accident and incident forms.
Maintain an ongoing day to day log book for the room.
Ensure daily children's reports are completed and sent to families.
Maintain a professional and confidential relationship with the director, educators, parents, students and volunteers.
To be able and willing to attend workshops during and after work hours if necessary.
Required: Level 3 certification, 3-5 years experience with toddlers (19-36 mnths) Child Care First Aid & CPR, Current (within 6 months) Police check with Vulnerable Sector Search, Alberta Food Safety Basics, WHMIS
Wage Top Up grant funding will be added to advertised hourly wage amount.
