Children on the Hill is looking to hire a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE). In this role you will provide nurturing care and developmentally appropriate education to meet the needs of children in a group setting within a safe and healthy environment and in cooperation with parents, colleagues, and community professionals.
Job description:
-Plans a stimulating, developmentally appropriate program in accordance with organizational and legal guidelines which incorporates learning experiences meeting Toddler and Preschool groups' individual children's needs, varied daily activities, opportunities for child-directed spontaneous learning.

Observes and records child development of a group of eight children as wellas scheduling biannual parent/teacher meetings
-Provide supervision of the children & attend to their emotional and physical needs
-Evaluate program and development of individual children
-Maintain a healthy and safe environment
-Ensure positive communication with families
-Participate within a team and attend bi-weekly team meetings
-Engage in regularly scheduled non-contact time
Qualifications and Skills:
-Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Years Education

Min 1 - 3 years of program experience working with Toddler and/or Pre-School Children
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
-Strong knowledge of the CCEYA, ELECT Curriculum and Positive approach to guiding children's behavior
-Team Player and with a positive attitude, open to new ideas and flexible to the ever changing needs of the group.
-Sensitivity and respect for individual and cultural differences
-Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job
