Little Scientists Preschool is a STEM-based early learning program located in the Sage Hill community of NW Calgary. We are a licensed

half-day preschool

offering

AM and PM classes

for children ages 2.5-6. We're looking for a passionate and dedicated, part-time (Tuesday/Thursday),

Early Learning Childhood Education with minimum level 2

who is excited to inspire curiosity, discovery, and early scientific thinking through play-based learning. If you're an enthusiastic educator who thrives in a collaborative and nurturing environment, we'd love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a classroom of preschoolers in a structured, engaging, and nurturing environment Design and implement age-appropriate, play-based lesson plans with a STEM focus Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development Foster an inclusive classroom culture that encourages exploration and independent thinking Track and document each child's growth and learning, adapting activities to individual needs Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and classroom activities Collaborate with the Director and fellow educators to maintain program quality and consistency Ensure a clean, organized, and safe classroom at all times Mentor and guide support staff, including assistants or practicum students

Qualifications & Requirements

ECE Level 2 or 3 certification (Required)

Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred) Current

First Aid & CPR certification

Police clearance with vulnerable sector check

(recent/within 6 months) Experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed child care or educational setting Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills Passion for early learning and a genuine love for working with young children Ability to manage time effectively between planning, instruction, and documentation Bonus: Interest or experience in STEM-based programming for early learners
