Position Title: Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 2
Reports To: Childcare Centre Director / Supervisor

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 2 to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that promotes the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children. This role requires strong collaboration with families, colleagues, and community partners to ensure quality early learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate, play-based learning activities that support children's holistic development.

Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in accordance with licensing regulations and organizational policies.

Build positive, respectful, and culturally inclusive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Document observations, assess developmental progress, and adapt programming to meet individual needs.

Support children in developing social skills, problem-solving abilities, and positive behavior strategies.

Supervise daily routines such as meals, rest periods, and hygiene practices.

Maintain organized, safe, and engaging learning environments both indoors and outdoors.

Mentor and provide guidance to ECE Level 1 educators, assistants, and practicum students where applicable.

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements

ECE Level 2 Certification recognized by the Province.

Current Standard First Aid & CPR Certification.

Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Minimum of 2 years experience in early learning or childcare settings (preferred).

Strong understanding of child development and early learning frameworks.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain flexible, patient, and adaptable in a fast-paced childcare environment.

Work Conditions

Full-Time role with 32 -40 hours per week.

Active indoor and outdoor supervision required.

Physical ability to lift, bend, and engage in activities with children.
