Located at the Uy'sqwalawun Childcare Centre & Headstart Program in Nanoose First Nation, the Infant Toddler/Special Needs Early Childhood Educator (ECE/SNE) is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate early childhood programs that meet the observed needs of the children and leading children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical, and emotional growth.
The purpose of the Special Needs Early Childhood Educator (ECE/SNE) position is to provide direct care to children, from birth to 3 years of age. The position encourages children's intellectual, physical and emotional growth.
Qualifications:
Early Childhood Educator License -Special Needs Early Childhood Educator Certification
Current First Aid certificate.
Ability to provide professional references.
Diplomas, certificates or other evidence of training related to child growth/development.
Experience working in a childcare or recreational setting.
Successful candidates will be required to pass a Criminal Record Check.

Schedule:
8 hour: all staff will be in a rotation of shifts or agreed upon as a team(set shifts)

Monday to Friday
As career progresses, incumbent will be required to successfully complete job-required, short-term upgrading, training and courses relating to classroom management, Snaw-naw-as language, First Nation's child development, curriculum development, language immersion, etc.

Pay: $28.00-$31.00 per hour
