Job Description

Lutheran Early Learning Centres is looking to fill all educator roles in a brand-new center opening in Hague. LELC is looking for ECE's of all levels for Infant, toddler, and preschool aged rooms as well as one Supervisor role. All applicants must hold an ECE level, have first aid/CPR C certification, and provide a criminal record check prior to beginning work.

Responsibilities

All aspects of planning and implementing of an early learning program that supports the philosophy of the organization. Facilitate engaging educational activities that promote learning and development among children. Use of emergent curriculum, Child led project approach, process over product style educational styles in developmentally appropriate ways. Maintain a clean, safe environment that reflects the needs and development of children enrolled. Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students. supervision of children in partnership with other staff/ practice active supervision and quality engagements with children in the program. Follow children's lead and take active, supportive roles in their play by observing, expanding on their interests, documenting, and engaging with children on their level to actively participate with them. Spending time outdoors with children daily. maintain positive partnership and communication with other staff, families, and children. reliably and punctually be at work and ready to greet children, staff, and families in a professional manner. Cleaning, laundry, safe handling of chemical cleaners such as bleach, Lysol, etc. in an early learning environment. Complete forms (Program Plans, Injury Reports, Medication Reports, Unusual Occurrence reports, etc.). Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and special events. Follow protocol for keeping child/staff ratios, fire drills, administering medication, etc.
Skills

ECE certification of any level. Understanding of Childcare regulations, Childcare act, licensing regulations, and LELC employee handbook (reviewed upon hiring). Experience working with children. Programming and documentation skills. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and coworkers. Communicate with Families via ProCare app Ability to work collaboratively and patiently as part of a new team. punctuality and reliability CPR/ First aid ability to handle working in a fast paced, high energy environment. Ability to work in an environment that is inclusive for children with varying abilities and backgrounds. Ability to allow children to explore, learn through experience and take the lead. Engage in and actively supervise risky and messy play.

Pay: $15.00-$21.57 per hour

Schedule:

8 hour shift Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2025-04-01
