Job Overview


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires a strong commitment to early childhood education and the ability to engage with children in a meaningful way.

Key Responsibilities



Supervision & Leadership Oversee and support teachers, assistants, and other staff in their daily duties. Provide coaching, feedback, and ongoing professional development to staff. Assist in staff scheduling, attendance tracking, and performance evaluations. Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment. Childcare & Safety Ensure all children are cared for in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. Monitor classrooms and play areas to maintain safety, cleanliness, and order. Respond promptly to incidents or concerns, completing required reports. Maintain compliance with state and local childcare licensing regulations. Program & Curriculum Support Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities. Ensure lesson plans align with the center's philosophy and developmental goals. Support teachers in managing classroom routines and behavioral expectations. Parent & Family Relations Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and wellbeing. Address parent concerns with professionalism and empathy. Participate in family events, meetings, and conferences as needed. Administrative Duties Maintain accurate records for attendance, incident reports, and staff documentation. Assist in enrollment processes and orientation for new families. Ensure facilities are properly maintained and supplies are adequately stocked.

Duties



Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards. Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. Assess and document children's progress, providing regular feedback to parents and guardians. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and share best practices. Manage classroom activities, including daily schedules, transitions, and behavior management. Maintain accurate records of attendance, student assessments, and other administrative tasks. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills. Utilize organizational skills for effective classroom management and resource allocation.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. Experience in early childhood settings is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Proficiency in administrative tasks including subsidy processing, and clerical duties. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating independence when necessary. Commitment to creating an inclusive environment that respects diversity among students. Knowledge of licensing regulations Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certification (required) Background check and health clearance per Province licensing standards

Working Conditions



Full-time schedule with occasional evenings or weekends for events or training. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and engage actively with children indoors and outdoors.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
