Hiawatha First Nation provides services to the citizens of Hiawatha. These services include health, social, administrative, membership, public works, lands and education. Reporting:
This position will report to the Child Care Supervisor.
Summary of Main Responsibilities:
Deliver, guide and assist the children in daily planned activities.
Assist in the supervision of children in indoor and outdoor play and during rest period.
Assist in the preparation and serving of snacks while ensuring healthy food indicator tool used.
Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the Child Care Centre through regular cleaning and sanitization.
Assist in maintaining the safety and cleanliness of child care equipment.
Work co-operatively and as a team member with co-workers.
Great and interact with children and families.
Attend department staff meetings when required.
Promote the vision, mission and values of Hiawatha First Nation
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum one years' relevant experience working with children;
Post-Secondary Diploma in Early Childhood Education or another relevant diploma an asset;
Experience in a First Nations setting an asset
Must provide a clear CPIC and VSC (documentation will be required if successful applicant)
Must meet Ministry of Education Quality Assurance and Licensing Branch
Must have up to date immunization and 2 step TB (proof will be required if successful applicant)
First Aid and CPR an asset (and must be willing to take the training if hired)
Reliable transportation to work

Pay: $23.40-$25.99 per hour
