Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the educational and developmental needs of young children in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in early childhood education, with a focus on fostering a love for learning through engaging activities and individualized support.

Duties

Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans that promote overall childhood development. Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and structured learning environment. Engage with children during activities to encourage participation and facilitate learning. Help with curriculum development tailored to the needs of children, including those with disabilities or special needs. Provide care for toddlers and preschool-aged children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Collaborate with educators to create inclusive lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster strong relationships and support student progress. Monitor student behavior and implement behavior management strategies as needed. Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning.

Requirements

Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred. Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childhood development theories. Familiarity with special education practices, including working with individuals on the autism spectrum or other disabilities. Proficiency in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.. A genuine passion for working with young children and fostering their growth in a supportive environment.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 36 per week

Experience:

Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:

BC ECEA Certificate (required) First Aid Certification (preferred)
