Early Childhood Assistant (Temporary Part-Time Contract position)
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified, experienced and enthusiastic
Early Childhood Assistant
to join our team at
Etobicoke Takewondo and Deh Camp (ETKD).

The successful candidate will be working alongside our After School Program staff and they will be responsible for creating an active, engaging and supportive program for children ages 4-12. This role may include mentoring teenage volunteers (ages 13-15).
Our program runs daily (Monday - Friday) from 2:30 to 6:30.

Monday - Friday (5 days/week)
Hours:
2:30pm - 6:30pm (occasional overtime)
Job type

Key Responsibilities
Assist and deliver age appropriate activities for a diverse group of children and abilities
Transport children safely from local schools to ETKD (walking or shuttle)
Actively supervise indoor and outdoor activities
Ensure the well-being and safety of children
Communicate with parents during dismissal
Support staff and volunteers with daily activities
Assist After School team members with preparing activities, materials, crafts and creative ideas
Assist with cleaning, maintenance and preparation of the after school space
Qualifications
Must be minimum 18 years of age
Completion of high school diploma
Completed or currently enrolled in a relevant post secondary program such as Early childhood education, child and youth care and Social work
2-5 years of experience working with children ages 4-12 (required)
Must be legally authorized to work in Ontario
Vulnerable sector check is required for this position
Nice to have
Valid First Aid certification or pursuing first aid certification
Full G drivers license
Experience with special education
Martial arts experience and/or background
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
