McCain Foods (Canada) is currently looking for a detail-oriented E & I Supervisor to join our team in Florenceville-Bristol, NB. As the successful candidate, you are responsible to minimize equipment downtime by ensuring the electrical instrumentation and controls equipment function properly, through established maintenance practices. You are also responsible to support the plant through PLC programming changes.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and maintain all electrical and instrumentation programs, programming of PLCs, Factory Talk support and all other established McCain maintenance programs

Drive continuous improvement and promote/support the MDI and MDI x AI efforts

MDI coaching for maintenance and production employees

Supervise, coach and schedule E&I employees (shift workers and day workers) --- including but not limited to Programmers, Electricians, Instrumentation Technicians, Planner/Scheduler and apprentices

Completely responsible for electrical contractors onsite - monitor job performance, safety, scope, installation quality/standards

Provide weekend and evening support to team members in the event of breakdowns (troubleshooting, missing parts, extraordinary repairs, etc.)

Oversee shop condition and housekeeping

Monitor maintenance KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and manage work order backlog

Maintain employee progressive skills, coaching trackers, license renewals and monitor apprenticeship logs

Responsible for employee attendance and Kronos (time sheet)

Manage vacation schedules

Responsible for employee performance assessments

Create, maintain and execute development plans to drive the technical skills of the electrical department

Coordinate apprenticeship and licensing for the electrical staff

Plan, schedule, monitor training (Success Factor, safety, equipment, GMP, Arc Flash, etc.)

Work closely with the Maintenance and Engineering Managers to help develop the annual capital plan, supporting plant goals and cost reduction opportunities

Attend cross-functional meetings: availability (uptime), reliability, material backlog, cost review, etc.

May be required to sit on committees such as HACCP, JHSC (Joint Health & Safety), or other

Qualifications:

Must be a licensed Industrial Electrician (Residential Electrician will be considered)

Additional license in the Instrumentation and Control Technician trade would be an asset

Very knowledgeable in the CSA Canadian Electrical Code standards

Strong leadership skills

Knowledge of factory programming and controls (MCCs, motors, VFDs, etc.)

Knowledge of communication and controls networking principles

Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC hardware and of Rockwell software suite

Ownership and intimate knowledge of switchgear / power distribution / high-voltage systems

Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential / comfortable working with MS Office Suite

Must be observant and detail-oriented

Ability to prioritize work backlogs and adapt to last minute changes to a set plan
