Our family farm is currently looking for a team player to fill the position of Delivery Driver & Farm Hand. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of our produce, bringing the product into restaurants grocery stores and/ wholesalers, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service to our customers. You will also be required to work on the farm 1-2 days a week, either driving our field trucks, helping on our produce line, and during planting and/ or harvest. We will provide training to the right person who can demonstrate motivation and a willingness to learn. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY
  • Delivering our produce to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain outstanding relationships with our customers by providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling any complaints professionally.
  • Write out invoices and ensure accuracy of spelling & correct payment.
  • Inspects delivery vehicles and ensure the safety and security of the loading and unloading process.
  • Must be responsible handling cash and balancing cash at end of shift.
  • Contacts customers to confirm delivery details (when required).
  • Follow safety and lifting protocols during deliveries, and conduct safety reviews.
  • Loading, transporting, and delivering items to customers.
  • Must be able to lift 50lb + as job requires bringing 50lb bags of produce into customers restaurants.
  • Maintains delivery logs and records.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading items from truck at beginning and end of day.
  • Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
  • Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
  • Must be comfortable operating equipment and machines, such as, forklifts, etc.
  • Will be required to work around farm 1-2 days a week or when required; may be required to be around more during planting/harvest.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Good communication skills.
  • Comfortable driving to different streets, neighborhoods, and routes.
  • Highly trustworthy, responsible & reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Proven experience in commercial driving or a similar role
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts is a plus
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • High school diploma.
  • Valid DZ driver\xe2\x80\x99s Ontario license.
  • 3 years of driving a truck preferred.
  • Must have a clean driving record and be able to provide driver\xe2\x80\x99s abstract & CVDR.
  • Ability to walk, drive, and lift and carry heavy items for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail with delivery lists and special requests from customers or management.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 \xe2\x80\x93 60 per week Benefits:
