Dump Truck & Pup / Stone Slinger Operator - Nelson BC

We are looking for a Class 1 licensed Dump Truck & Pup and Stone Slinger Operator to join the Hadean Aggregate Solutions team in Nelson BC. POSITION BENEFITS

• Monday to Saturday work schedule
• Wage is $30-34 per hour, depending on experience
• Overtime pay after 8 hours per day
• 4% vacation pay

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Haul material from Hadean aggregate pits to local job sites, loading material from stockpiles to appropriate piles and trucks
• Maneuver heavy equipment into loading and unloading positions
• Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
• Conduct pre and post trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road worthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment; clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment as necessary
• Participate in, accept and adopt the principles described in the company safety program
• Ensure trucks are left clean and safe at the end of each shift.
• Additional duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

As a member of the Hadean Aggregate Solutions team, we expect you bring the following to the table:

• Class 1 Driver\'s Licence
• Able to successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• 1-2 years of experience operating Stone Slinger Truck and Dump Truck & Pup
• First Aid & WHMIS certificates are considered an asset
• Acceptable driver\'s abstract, based on the Sutherland Group\'s abstract review policy
• Mechanically inclined with knowledge of screening equipment
• Able to work safely and collaboratively with team members and management in the field in a physically demanding and fast paced work environment.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Capable of performing routine maintenance on equipment such as lubricating, cleaning, etc
• Ability to lift 50lb
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, confined space and heights and possess the required PPE and steel-toed work shoes.
