Atlific Hotels, representing the Best Western Plus Burnaby Hotel and the Element Vancouver Metrotown Hotel is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented individual to join the Burnaby area sales team as Dual Property Sales Manager. This Sales Manager is responsible for booking all segments for Best Western, but primarily corporate business in the LNR (Locally Negotiated Rate) market segment as well as group business in the SMERFE (Sports/Social, Military, Education, Religious, Fraternity, Entertainment) market segment. Additionally, this position will book Sports business for the Element Vancouver Metrotown. Reporting to the Dual Property Director of Sales, the Dual Property Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, booking, closing and effectively yielding business to achieve sales objectives.
Duties
Primarily targeting, soliciting and penetrating new and existing accounts in the Local Corporate and SMERFE markets for the Best Western Plus Burnaby Hotel.
Responding to sales inquires for both hotels within brand standard timelines and working to convert a high volume of leads to definite business.
Participates in applicable Best Western, Marriott and Atlific corporate training programs.
Work with Best Western and Marriott hotel sales related systems including Delphi/Salesforce and CI/TY.
Represent the hotel at Best Western, Marriott and Atlific events, and sales related activities, including travel.
Ensure all client interactions are documented within Delphi/Salesforce and CI/TY.
Participate in brand and Atlific cross-selling and lead referral programs.
Champion the sales culture within the hotels among associates and managers.
Assist with various assignments and/or projects as assigned by Management Company, General Manager or Supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
Conduct outside sales calls, telephone solicitation and site inspections to build relationships and aggressively target the business.
Close sales and conduct meetings to establish long and short-term business goals within budget.
Conduct account and market research to develop strategies to grow market share.
Develop and implement effective sales action plans in the LNR and SMERF segments.
Provide customer intelligence in evaluating the market and economic trends that may lead to changes in sales strategy for assigned segments to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Participate in business and industry related clubs and organizations.
Entertain Clients on/off site; represent the hotels in a professional manner.
Targeting, soliciting and penetrating new and existing accounts in the Sports market for the Element Vancouver Metrotown Hotel.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of sales experience in hotels.
Post-secondary education in sales/business or equivalent.
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite) required; experience with Delphi/Salesforce and CI/TY and asset.
Highly energetic, aggressive self-starter and well-developed sales skills including excellent negotiation, prospecting, presentation, and verbal & written communication skills.
Has established industry contacts and knowledge of marketplace
Strong organization skills and detail oriented
Commitment to superior customer service
Fluent in English - spoken and written communication; other languages - an asset
Must have ability to work under minimal supervision and with priority deadlines
Works well under pressure
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for the purpose of conducting sales calls
Visa Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
