Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual for the position of drywaller. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality workmanship across various construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction painting, carpentry, and maintenance person services, with the ability to execute tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

Measure, cut and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings

. Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists. Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners. Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife. The position requires travel to job sites, and on the road. Tasks

Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints Clean and prepare surfaces Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms

Skills

Proficient in construction painting techniques and materials. Strong carpentry skills with experience in various types of woodwork. Knowledgeable in caulking methods and applications for different surfaces. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
