Objective

The Driver Supervisor is a hands-on leader who thrives on problem solving and consistently delivering reliable equipment to help our customers get the job done right. With safety at the forefront, you will oversee the performance of our CVOR drivers and help guide them to stay productive and manage priorities.



Responsibilities



Lead by demonstrating the required behaviours, attitudes and mindset to develop a strong team culture and to position the company for continued, sustainable growth. Maintain an ongoing understanding of Dispatch operations, strategic plans, and related Driver trends, risks and issues. Set and communicate goals, direction and priorities for the drivers. Build effective relationships across the organization Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team, industry contacts, and key stakeholders; and Collaborate with internal leaders and employees across the organization to assess and improve service delivery. To resolve conflicts in conjunction with Branches and Dispatchers To oversee morning and evening loading and unloading activities. Work with Dispatchers for daily challenges/issues Work with Logistics manager to ensure alignment and consistency to driver standards and safety standards throughout department. To lead all driver training initiatives ranging from the onboarding/orientation of new drivers to coordinating ongoing development activities for experienced drivers. To support our drivers development through ride-alongs, recognition, conducting performance reviews and managing other performance related initiatives. Provide weekly updates on vehicle services, driver scores, ride-alongs, compliance, and action plans. To ensure we maintain Standard Operating Procedures compliance and conduct fleet checks and audits. Take active role in monthly team meetings and action items Ensure compliance and take active lead in Driver CVOR compliance and Health and Safety initiatives. To manage driver payroll and ensure timely and accurate submissions. Ensure internal compliance with training/certifications. Manage employee attendance and vacation scheduling. Support the business through fleet and labour cost monitoring

Requirements

Post Secondary education preferred. 2 years Supervisory experience. Experience in rental services, construction, delivery, or a fleet environment preferred. Valid G-Class Driver's License with clean abstract. CVOR/MTO regulatory knowledge is an asset. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Strong leadership, influence, communication and organizational skills. Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
