Your Opportunity:If you have previously applied and have commercial experience operating a 5 Ton truck without air brakes then you are encouraged to reapply to this posting. AHS has an opportunity for an evening driver, three evenings per week, Sunday , Wednesday and Thursday. This is a permanent part time position, shift starts at 17:30 and ends at 01:15. Drivers at AHS operate clean, new 5 Ton trucks and this position is a great opportunity for a driver with a flexible schedule and who enjoys working evenings delivery pallets of supplies to our Edmonton hospitals. AHS is a progressive employer with good advancement opportunities for the right drivers.Description:As a Driver I, you will transport a range of products including, but not limited to, mail, packages, medical supplies, equipment, food and linen, in accordance with AHS standards, regulations and policies. Working independently, you must adhere to scheduled routes, as well as ad hoc requests, in a safe and courteous manner. You will be expected to perform a series of routine duties such as logging mileage, cleaning vehicles, performing pre and post vehicle inspections and reporting defects and malfunctions to management.

Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator\'s Licence. Completion of valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certificate. Additional Required Qualifications:Note: Physical demands include shift work, amounts of standing, walking, sitting and climbing during workday; bends, stoops, reaches for and carries material. Must do heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, of pallets and palletized loads and drive/work in seasonal temperatures and weather conditions. Valid Class 5 Alberta provincial driver license with a clear driver abstract, not older than 30 days; Must be able to work shifts; Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and make simple mathematical calculations; Must demonstrate a courteous and cooperative attitude when dealing with customers, other AHS staff, and members of the public; Must be mature, stable and able to work within established routines; Must be prepared to submit to a driver assessment check ride. Preferred Qualifications:Recent driving and delivery experience. Knowledge of, and able to use Material Handling Equipment (forklift, motorized pallet jack, hydraulic lift) desirable. Knowledge of Hours of Service rules and National Safety code for drivers.
