THE ROLE:
PETRONAS Canada is currently seeking a Drilling and Completions Technician to join our team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Team Lead, Drilling & Completions Technicians, the successful candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, be a strong team player who is able to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment. This role requires familiarity with OGC regulations and a numerical aptitude.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Oil & Gas Commission (OGC) e-submission drilling reports, Summary Reports of Drilling Operations, directional surveys, tour reports, geological reports, and well logs
  • OGC e-submission completions reports, including Notice of Operation/Flare, completion/workover reports, well test data, gas and fluid analysis, hydraulic frac data, flow test data, frac stage details, and perf/frac submissions
  • OGC Suspension/Abandonment/Workover Notice of Operation and reporting
  • Assist with applications for well licenses and amendments, including gathering mineral information, and completing drilling sections of the license application
  • Request Emergency Response Plans and provide the drilling information sheet for associated wells
  • Prepare and provide pre-spud packages to the field, compiling all necessary paperwork including Water information
  • Update Generwell with drilling & completions information
  • Set up wells in WellView and add appropriate attachments
  • Track and submit flare volumes to Production Accounting
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma from a technician/technologist program
  • 3-5 years' experience in the oil and gas industry with exposure to natural gas
  • Familiarity with drilling and completions operations reporting systems
  • Experience with well licensing and knowledge of land surveys and directional drilling
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with all areas of the organization
  • Exposure to BC operations, OGC regulations and field experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly Excel, as well as WellView, Generwell, and eDocs
