Job Description


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe set-up and efficient/safe operation of an automated metal draw forming/trimming line
  • Responsible for the close monitoring of the draw press line equipment and tooling to ensure a defect free sub
component for further downstream processing and assembly
  • Responsible for entering production data into computerized data collection software
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the draw press line production area
  • Responsible for the safe handling/storage/and inspection of tooling, dies, and moulds used on the automated line
  • Responsible for the close prestart inspection of raw materials and tooling
  • Responsible to report and issues in regard to human safety and machine/tooling condition
  • Responsible to improve continually as opportunities present themselves
  • Responsible for achieving the required product spec of products using proper tooling/moulds, equipment
programming Duties
  • Set-up/tooling changes on automated steel disc loading machine, draw press machine, lip trimming machine, final
edge trimming lathe and conveying system using mostly basic hand tools
  • Perform routine quality checks at predetermined intervals to ensure a high-quality product free of defects
  • Make line adjustments as necessary to maintain a high rate of productivity
  • Keep area clean and safe
  • Replenish raw material and production consumables as needed
  • Operate battery operated pallet jack and forklifts as needed
  • Assist other operators in the area as needed
  • All other duties assigned
  • May be relied on for training of upcoming operators in this area
Draw Press Operator Capabilities/Qualifications/Skills:
  • A strong mechanical aptitude
  • A strong understanding of production equipment in an industrial environment
  • Experience in a high paced manufacturing area
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • Previous experience in a mechanical field or related education an asset
  • Experience or related education in CNC machining an asset
  • Knowledgeable in the use of precise measuring tools including Vernier calipers, Micrometers, dial indicators, depth
gauges, and feeler gauges
  • Knowledgeable in the use of automated HMI controlled equipment
  • Previous experience in the manufacturing of cookware or the operation of similar equipment an asset
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must work well with others in a team environment
  • Experience in the operation of electric pallet jacks and forklifts
