The role holder reports directly to the Structural Engineering Superintendent.Accountabilities

• Drafting \xe2\x80\x93 creating, revising, archiving, and checking drawings under direct supervision of the engineer, site visits, field measuring, knowledge of codes and familiar with Vale standards.
• Safety protocols \xe2\x80\x93 attending process hazard awareness reviews, attending and participating in safety meetings, using safety tracking software, performing and documenting safety audits.
• Task organization \xe2\x80\x93 Organizes the execution of the task relative to other tasks and job functions. Documents all relevant information pertaining to the task using project software, data bases, etc.

Shortlist/Pre-screening CriteriaEducation: The successful candidate will possess a Graduate technologist in structural discipline is preferred.Experience: This is an entry level position within our Vale Design Engineering department. Candidates with previous drafting experience in the mining industry are preferred; however, graduate technologists with of a structural discipline, with minimal field experience are encouraged to apply.Computer Skills: Vale Drawing Management System (jDMS), Microstation is preferred but AutoCAD is acceptable, SAP, and general knowledge with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Applicable Codes, Regulations and Industry Standards: Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Structural Standards, Structural drawing symbols, Knowledge of Vale drafting procedures, Knowledge of Mining Regulations O.Reg 854, CSA W59Drafting Skills: Must possess the ability to scale drawings, create or revise drawings, and reserve and archive drawings.What We Offer You
