Job Description


Door Shop Supervisor Main Responsibilities and Duties Reporting to the Production Manager, and as a member of the Production Team, the Door Shop Supervisor is responsible for following the production schedule, mentoring and supervising Door Shop Employees while maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful work environment, and performs other related duties. Working closely with other members of the production team, this position plays a key role in assisting with quotes, sales, costs, schedules, and operational efficiency of the Door Shop and that doors are properly manufactured while ensuring that Quality and customer needs are being met. Education and Experience Considerable experience in the construction industry, manufacturing environment, or shop. Completion of a college diploma is an asset. Proven experience leading a team and mentoring and managing the performance of direct reports is required. Mechanical aptitude and digital fluency (computer skills, internet skills etc.) is required. Experience in a LEAN manufacturing environment with some engineering experience considered an asset. Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the qualifications listed above may be equally considered. Knowledge and Abilities

  • A strong knowledge of manufacturing and production processes.
  • Knowledge of basic housing construction technical components.
  • Knowledge of all the equipment and tools used in the manufacturing and production of exterior doors.
  • Ability to set, monitor and evaluate goals and objectives.
  • Ability to influence others and effectively work in a team.
  • Ability to deal with personnel issues including discipline, investigations and health/safety compliance.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Word); the ability to work with ERP software is desirable.
  • Ability to plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations.

Conditions of Employment
  • A valid Yukon Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a driver\xe2\x80\x99s abstract.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain as required.
  • WHMIS certificate or willing to obtain.
  • Willing to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas
  • Willing to continuously learn and take additional training as required.
  • Willing and able to lift material weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime, evenings and/or shift work, if required.
