Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and exercise for dogs while ensuring their safety and well-being during walks. We are looking for someone to help cover peak periods (mid day) and mid-late after appointments that are requested. (Approximately 11:30-3:30)

This position is perfect for animal lovers who enjoy spending time outdoors and have a strong commitment to customer service.

Duties

Walk dogs in various weather conditions, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation. Maintain control of dogs at all times, using leashes and harnesses as necessary. Monitor the behavior and health of each dog during walks, reporting any concerns to the owner. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's needs and any observations made during walks. Clean up after dogs to maintain a tidy environment. Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding their dog's routine, preferences, and any special requirements.

Skills

Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their concerns. Ability to manage multiple dogs safely while maintaining a calm demeanor. Knowledge of dog behavior and training techniques is a plus. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely walks and adherence to schedules. Physical stamina to handle walking multiple dogs over varying distances. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being. Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 15 per week

We use an online booking/appointment software. Do you have a cell phone with data? An important part of what we do is building relationships. Are you able to commit to at least 8 or more months in this position? Will you provide a security clearance from the police department or RCMP if you are a successful candidate? Are you physically capable of walking up to 4 dogs at once? Walking in all weather conditions for 2-4 hours? Driving dogs in your car, to gather multiple dogs for a group walk is necessary. Do you have a car? Are you comfortable with dogs being in your car?
