We are seeking a

skilled, confident, and compassionate Dog Groomer

to join our small, one on one established salon. Our salon is known for providing low-stress grooming experiences in a calm and caring environment. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, values quality and can work

independently

without constant supervision with professionalism, patience and care.

The Role

Provide full-service grooming including bathing, brushing, trimming, de-shedding, nail clipping, and ear cleaning for dogs of all breeds and sizes. Use

low-stress handling techniques

to ensure each pet has a positive, safe, and comfortable grooming experience. Must be comfortable handling different personalities of dogs including those that are very nervous. Assess coat condition, skin health, and temperament to tailor grooming services to each individual pet's needs. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients to discuss styling preferences, coat maintenance, and overall pet care prior and after their appointment. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grooming space, including proper tool care and disinfecting after each use. Full cleanup is necessary at the end of shift. Monitor and report any health or behavioural concerns observed during grooming sessions. Write detailed notes regarding each pet in their profile after their service. Manage a daily schedule efficiently and independently to maintain consistent service and quality.

What You Bring

Minimum

2 years of professional grooming experience

in a salon or mobile grooming environment. Must have strong compassion, patience, and a genuine care for animals. Be comfortable grooming 5+ dogs a day (size dependent) on your own Be able to groom independently without direct supervision and assistance Must have a strong knowledge of breed-specific grooming techniques and styles. Experience with a variety of breeds and temperaments including with fearful and anxious dogs. Attention to detail to deliver quality results Confidence to work independently while maintaining high professional standards. Ability to safely handle dogs up to 100 lbs. Excellent time management and customer service skills. A positive attitude, strong teamwork ethic Compassion, patience, and genuine care for animals ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
