We are one of a kind Canine Enrichment Centre offering dog boarding, daycare and training in a structured group environment. We are looking for individuals who want to pursue a career working with dogs. JOB DESCRIPTION: This position entails mastering all aspects of dog handler position, customer care position, in addition to assisting the facility manager with training and managing of the team. Job involves (but not limited to): cleaning of the facility, feeding and administering medications, performing basic health checks, dog grooming, supervising large groups of dogs, dog behaviour modification, dog training, training new recruit dog handlers, training and ensuring all staff performs to company standard, assisting facility manager, front desk customer service and receptionist duties, occasional driving may be required. REQUIREMENTS: We are looking for a positive, calm and confident individual who is dedicated in pursuing a career working with dogs and leading a team. You must be hard working, dedicated, reliable, punctual, independent, self motivated, detail oriented, able to take and follow direction, be a strong leader, team player, problem solver, kind, patient, calm and confident. Must be comfortable handling all breeds and temperaments of dogs. Being able to stay calm under pressure with all time positive attitude is a must! Candidates need a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license and be able to work weekends and holidays. Previous professional animal related experience is required. Managerial experience is an asset. We are a 24 hour care facility and all candidates must have flexible availability for varying shifts including overnights, weekends and holidays. TRAINING: Extensive on the job training will be provided specializing in dog behaviour and psychology as well as group play.
