Position Summary
The Document Control Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining all controlled documents associated with the design, fabrication, inspection, and testing of pressure vessels and components manufactured in accordance with ASME and CSA N299 quality requirements. This role ensures that all drawings, procedures, specifications, records, and quality documentation are accurate, current, and properly distributed to internal and external stakeholders.
Document Control & Administration
Maintain and control all documents in accordance with ASME Section VIII, CSA N285/N299, and company Quality Assurance Program requirements.
Manage the document control system for engineering drawings, weld maps, material test reports (MTRs), procedures, and quality records.
Issue, track, and archive controlled documents, ensuring that current revisions are distributed and obsolete versions are removed from circulation.
Assign and maintain document numbers, revision levels, and approval status.
Ensure traceability of all controlled documents related to pressure vessel fabrication and inspection.
Quality Program Support
Support the implementation and maintenance of the ASME and CSA N299 quality systems.
Ensure document packages meet regulatory and customer requirements prior to release.
Assist in preparation, compilation, and finalization of data books/manufacturing records for customer turnover and regulatory submissions.
Support internal and external audits (ASME, TSSA, CSA, customer, etc.) by providing requested documentation and records.
Coordination & Communication
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Project Management teams to ensure timely and accurate document flow.
Coordinate document submittals and transmittals to clients, regulatory bodies, and inspectors.
Maintain confidentiality and security of proprietary and classified information.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline document control and record management systems.
Recommend improvements to digital document control systems or workflows (e.g., SharePoint, ERP, or QMS software).
Education:
Post-secondary education in administration, engineering technology, or quality management preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in document control or quality administration in a pressure vessel, nuclear, or heavy manufacturing environment.
Experience with ASME Section VIII, CSA N285/N299, and Quality Assurance Programs is required.
Familiarity with CWB, TSSA, or CNSC documentation standards considered an asset.
