Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dock Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our cross dock facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, heavy equipment operation, and shipping & receiving processes. This role involves supervising dock activities, coordinating load and unload operations, and ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the facility. The Dock Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining smooth logistics flow and supporting warehouse staff to meet operational goals.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate dock activities including loading and unloading. Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, and other machinery safely and efficiently Oversee shipping & receiving processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods Ensure compliance with safety protocols during heavy lifting, construction-related tasks, and equipment operation Assign tasks to warehouse staff, monitor performance, and provide training as needed Conduct inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain safety standards Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize loading schedules and dock operations Maintain accurate records of shipments, loads, and inventory movements

Requirements

Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related logistics roles Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picker technology Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Experience with load & unload procedures Excellent organizational skills with the ability to supervise multiple activities simultaneously Prior experience in cross dock management or supervision roles is highly desirable Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse procedures Ability to work flexible hours including weekends if necessary
