About the Position
Lethbridge Polytechnic is a student-centred environment that provides practical and innovative learning experiences. The Centre for Justice and Human Services delivers a range of certificate, diploma, university transfer, and bachelor degree courses to students.
The Centre is seeking applications for a sessional distance instructor for the LAW 3360 - Indigenous Law course commencing for the Winter 2026 term. Up to 2 distance courses may be available dependent on student interest.
We are seeking instructors who are passionate about teaching in an on-line environment and are dedicated to supporting students in their educational journey.
Position Details
Responsibilities of all faculty in the Centre of Justice and Human Services include:Delivering courses congruent with established course curricula and program outcomes.
Supporting the success of students with diverse cultural, educational and learning backgrounds.
Assessing student learning in ways that both facilitate learning and ensure achievement against appropriate academic standards.
Contributing to course materials and course outline maintenance.
Working collaboratively within programs and course teams.
Required Qualifications
A Ph.D. or Master's degree in a relevant discipline such Criminal Justice, Law, Public Administration, or Indigenous Studies is required.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated positive working relationships with indigenous communities.
Publications or research directly related to course.
Experience with related course development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with on-line instruction and technology-enabled learning design and delivery is an asset.
Salary
Commensurate with education in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement Distance Instructor Faculty grid.
