About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full-Time, Divisional Partner. In this role you will be accountable for establishing a strategic relationship with a specific business area. You will develop a formal and holistic "Talent Plan" for an assigned Division(s) to incorporate all the talent, capability, leadership, team e\xef\xac\x80ectiveness, culture, and performance opportunities of the Division. You will also collaborate with other Talent Management colleagues to execute systematically on the Divisional Talent Plan. This role reports to the Talent Management Division with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the assigned VP.

Key responsibilities include:

Trusted Advisor to assigned Vice-President and senior leadership team.

  • Primary partner for a Divisional VP and senior leadership team. Assist business in managing workforce for a given area, provide guidance and counsel/coaching. Translates operational plans and future direction of the division into human capital needs.
  • Supports the VP and Divisional leadership team to solve their complex people issues.
  • Analyzes Divisional talent issues and/or business performance challenges, assembles leading practices to put forward actionable recommendations, prepares plans and ensures successful execution.
  • Creates long term relationships at a senior executive and leadership team level.
  • Sits on the Divisional leadership team and contributes to the performance of the Division.
Develops Divisional Talent Plan
  • Create Divisional Talent Plan in collaboration with assigned Division.
  • Leads or supports (as assigned) the execution of talent programs within the client division, including processes such as performance management, talent reviews, succession planning and leadership development.
  • Organization design: Identify need for organization design/structure changes; leads the process to develop the design, partners to e\xef\xac\x80ectively populate structure; provides guidance on talent and headcount/cost.
Project Management
  • Contributes to the development of divisional programs and initiatives and works with colleagues in the \xef\xac\x81eld to ensure standard approach to execution.
  • Delivers projects including but not limited to: Restructuring across the Division.
  • HR transformation including HR strategy, service delivery, process, technology, and outsourcing. Talent and workforce management.
Performs other related duties as required.

Education, Training and Experience:
  • Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a University Degree in Business, Human Resources, Behavioural science. At least seven plus years of combined experience with the following: Employee and/or Labour Relations, Talent Management Strategies, Organizational E\xef\xac\x80ectiveness, Change, Human Capital Consulting.
  • Considered an asset - experience in matrix function across the organization. Strong commitment to professional and customer service excellence.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities.
  • Experienced with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations and team leadership.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to gain the respect and trust of executive level management. Very strong ability to in\xef\xac\x82uence decision makers.
  • Ability to integrate current and future TM trends to enable business strategy.
  • Ability to grasp corporate and customer strategies and, in turn, develops talent plans and tactics accordingly. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Client focused orientation.
  • Strong project management skills.
