Job Description


The Cahill Group is seeking qualified applicants for a Divisional Accounting Manager in St. John\'s, NL. You will work within our collaborative Finance team and will play an integral role in the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports. As a Divisional Accounting Manager, you will also assist with capital asset management, prepaids, and reconciliations.The Divisional Accounting Manager will prepare, analyze, and present divisional and combined reports in a timely manner. You will demonstrate excellent communication with our Project Managers to assist with work-in-progress for monthly reports, as well as liaise with our clients and vendors while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality. This will be a permanent position, working Monday through Friday from our corporate office.What will you do?

  • Monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statement preparation and presentation.
  • Annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation of divisional and combined reports.
  • Coordinate with budget designates on a quarterly basis for analysis and reporting.
  • Perform job cost review and variance analysis.
  • Assist with capital asset management, prepaids, prepare or review and file tax information returns, intercompany and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare year-end working papers and liaise with external auditors.
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure accuracy of work-in-progress, costing, and invoicing for monthly reporting.
  • Maintain overall general ledger accuracy and divisional accuracy through monthly general ledger review.
  • Perform other duties as required.
What will you bring?
  • 5+ years financial experience in a multi-company construction environment.
  • Business Administration or Commerce Degree with a successful completion of a Professional Accounting Designation.
  • Experience in a construction environment, real estate holdings and/or health care would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Respect and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of company, suppliers, and subcontractor information.
