What is the opportunity?

In this role you will be a part of RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM), the asset management division of RBC. RBC GAM offers global investment management services and solutions to institutional, high net worth, and individual investors, through separate accounts, pooled funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, exchange-traded funds, and specialty investment strategies. You will build new and thriving relationships with advisors and continue to develop existing relationships to increase market share within your assigned territory. The District Vice-President will lead the regional sales team in successfully promoting RBC Funds, BlueBay Funds, PH&N Funds, and RBC iShares ETFs within the Centre-du-Qu\xc3\xa9bec region as well as a part of New Brunswick.

What will you do?

  • Serve as the RBC, PH&N, BlueBay, and RBC iShares ETFs representative to the Advisory Channel in your sales territory
  • In partnership with your regional sales team, and in association with the Regional Vice-President for Eastern Canada, you will develop sales strategies to identify key producers or potential producers to grow RBC market share in your region
  • Develop a database with qualified producers in the Advisory Channel
  • Focus on increasing the breadth and depth of gross sales while working to reduce the redemptions of existing regional assets
  • Develop a regional business strategy to meet the region\xe2\x80\x99s key advisors on a regular basis, presenting them with sales ideas and market product updates through one-on-one meetings, branch presentations, and regional events
  • Respond to queries, complaints, suggestions, and requests for marketing support in a courteous, timely, and professional manner
  • Manage the regional budget to build your business within the parameters of RBC\xe2\x80\x99s compliance guidelines
  • Liaise effectively with the other regional sales teams and with our corporate partners to foster national cooperation, uniformity of service delivery, and to exchange sales ideas, market intelligence, and competitor information
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • University degree, preferably with a focus on business and/or economics
  • Industry designations such as CSC, Pl. Fin., CIM and/or CFA (or working toward one or more)
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience, preferably in financial services
  • Fluency in French and English required in order to serve our clients in the community with English speaking needs
  • In-depth knowledge of financial markets and the retail advisor market
  • Strong grasp of the professional/relationship sales process
