With accountability over safety, strategy, and financial performance for the Peterborough district, this role requires a strong foundation in operations and leadership, especially within logistics, transportation or waste management. This role would suit someone with a strong background in operations management, a strategic mindset, and a passion for making impactful changes in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.Key points For Success In This Role:

• Leadership in Operations and Safety: As the DM, you'd set the tone for safety and efficiency by creating robust systems and strategies. The team comprises about 50 operational staff across various services, meaning your leadership will directly impact employee and customer satisfaction.
• Strategic Planning & P&L Oversight: You would have full P&L responsibility, crafting strategic plans and budgets aligned with the organization's growth targets. Your experience in handling business plans and overseeing financial metrics will be instrumental in meeting district goals.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Negotiation: Developing and nurturing relationships with municipal leaders, partners, and community members will be essential, especially to anticipate and address environmental and regulatory needs. Your skills in negotiation, particularly with logistics or disposal vendors, will help optimize district operations.
• Team Development & Succession Planning: The role emphasizes servant leadership, with a focus on training, coaching, and preparing the team for advancement. Proven experience in building successful teams would be crucial for motivating and empowering employees to meet performance goals.
