Distribution & Warehousing Lead

This opportunity ensures the effective execution of distribution and warehousing operations for all Bayer Crop Science products including Crop Protection and Seed products to customers including deliveries and returns, while effectively balancing cost and service, and assuring compliance with regulations and company policies.

What you will do:

  • Lead team to manage the delivery experience for National and Channel customers to enable end-to-end customer satisfaction Manage Commercial Warehouse network including the placement of product within the network through effective and efficient Distribution
  • Requirements Planning Support for selection and engagement of competent and qualified carriers to transport materials for Seed & Traits businesses
  • Optimize mode selection and load planning, influence delivery acceptance, delivery scheduling and monitor carrier scorecard for continuous improvement
  • Develop and manage the budget for BCS Canada and long-range plans and all related fiscal forecasting and planning activities
  • Drive efficiencies while protecting service levels
  • Understand and execute best practices to manage capacity constraints at docks or with carriers. Support digital innovation, sustainability and other transportation initiatives which move the business forward
  • Support meeting business targets through proactive management and transparent communication with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other teams (Cust Ops, Demand and Supply Planning, Finance, DRP, Manufacturing, etc.) to align business strategies with results
  • Define goals and track KPIs (also for third party providers) established by Performance Management
  • Steer talent development in the team, support people processes, encourage a positive work environment and strong interaction with SCM communities and other areas
  • Distribution Safety Compliance: Manage, control, and remediate all distribution incidents in accordance to safety and compliance requirement
Who you are:
  • BA/BS degree in Logistics/Business/ or related field
  • Minimum 10 yrs. of experience in roles related to transportation, warehousing, inventory control, or supply chain; plus strong experience owning a team, managing people
  • Advanced degree or professional certification is preferred
  • customer focused with a strategic mindset, results orientation, collaboration, agility, conflict management, decision making, strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, relationship management skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally approximately 10% of the year to visit warehouse facilities
  • Knowledge of IT systems and tools, e.g. Microsoft Office, WMS, SAP, TMS
  • Broad based skill set and knowledge of areas such as safety, cost, reliability, and quality
  • Experience working in the agriculture industry is preferred
