Job Description

The Distribution & Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily operations related to inbound and outbound freight, managing truck schedules, ensuring accurate document preparation, and maintaining warehouse security and safety standards. This position is key in ensuring smooth logistics and inventory control through effective planning, coordination, and compliance with safety protocols.


Essential Duties and responsibilities




Next Day Operations and Schedule Planning:

Plan and organize daily operations and schedules to ensure the timely and efficient movement of goods, including coordination of inbound and outbound freight.

Coordination of Truck Movements:

Manage the daily check-in and check-out of trucks, ensuring that proper door and crew assignments are made for both inbound and outbound shipments.

Document Preparation and Order Fulfillment:

Prepare documents and orders for picking and shipping, ensuring that the correct quantity and type of products are picked based on FIFO principles, and that all documents are accurate.

Inbound Purchase Order Validation:

Validate inbound purchase orders (POs) for receiving and ensure that correct products and quantities are delivered.

Shipping Document Preparation:

Prepare and distribute all necessary shipping documents to the relevant parties, ensuring proper documentation for outbound shipments.

Equipment Inspection and Reporting:

Maintain records of equipment inspections, reporting any irregularities or maintenance needs to the Warehouse Operations Manager to ensure smooth operations.

Inventory Control and Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate inventory records and generate necessary reports to ensure inventory security and effective control of stock levels.

Office Supplies Ordering:

Maintain office equipment and supplies and replenish as necessary, including shipping seals and other necessary materials, to ensure continuous operations.

Warehouse Security and Safety Compliance:

Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and ensure all operations are conducted in a safe manner. Report any food safety concerns to the Warehouse Operations Manager, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations.

CHEP Pallet Program Administration:

Manage and maintain precise records of all CHEP pallets received and shipped with orders, ensuring accuracy for proper crediting and audit compliance.



Qualifications




Minimum of one year experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management. Preferably in the food industry. Minimum of one year experience with warehouse management systems and procedures. Understanding of inventory control and FIFO principles. Understanding of safety, food safety, and security procedures in a warehouse setting. Proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis on Excel & Word. Prior experience with JD Edwards is considered an asset. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
