ECHO Power Equipment (Canada), a major distributor of outdoor power equipment across Canada is seeking a talented, team-oriented individual, dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and VIP Service to our dealers throughout Canada in the role of Distribution Warehouse Manager The Distribution Warehouse Manager will report directly to the Manager of Operations and is responsible for all aspects of the warehouse functions. This position will take a hands-on leadership role to coach and motivate full time and seasonal staff members in the warehouse to ensure a timely flow of product to and from the warehouse to provide VIP service to our dealers across Canada. Responsibilities Include: \xc2\xb7 Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. Analyze warehouse utilization and labour metrics to ensure efficient operations. \xc2\xb7 On-going optimization of product in warehouse to react to dealer demand and seasons to maximize efficiency and available space while actively reducing inventory stored offsite. \xc2\xb7 Perform on-premises cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy. Coordinate and perform regular cycle counts of offsite inventory storage facilities. \xc2\xb7 Supervise and measure performance of all warehouse staff, goal assignment, internal and external training, and annual performance reviews. Coordinate with HR for hiring, discipline and reward measures. Perform daily team meetings to align departmental goals, assign tasks, and communicate any changes to policies, procedures, standards, and company communications. \xc2\xb7 Arrange LTL and courier including negotiating rates, maintaining cost-saving initiatives, establish new freight carriers, trouble-shoot billing discrepancies, manage claims and freight systems. \xc2\xb7 Maintain schedules for safety inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance of warehouse machinery and safety equipment. \xc2\xb7 Manage dealer returns, open order reports, shipment tracking and claims. \xc2\xb7 Coordinate with the Purchasing Department to schedule incoming freight, oversee the completion of work orders. \xc2\xb7 Manage the sourcing and ordering of all warehouse consumables. \xc2\xb7 Maintain positive and effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal departments. \xc2\xb7 Maintain a clean, safe, and secure work environment. Participate on the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Act as first responder to building security alarms. \xc2\xb7 Special projects and assignments as required. Key Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 Post-secondary education related to warehousing, supply chain management or logistics \xc2\xb7 3-5 years previous experience as a Warehouse Manager including staff supervision. \xc2\xb7 A willingness to show positive leadership, to provide guidance and coaching and to delegate and monitor meaningful tasks to your staff while creating team spirit. \xc2\xb7 Proficient in Windows and MS Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. \xc2\xb7 Valid and current forklift license an asset. \xc2\xb7 Willingness to be certified in First Aid, CPR and health and safety. \xc2\xb7 Extremely organized with effective project planning skills. \xc2\xb7 Excellent communication skills, including active listening and a willingness to share ideas. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to efficient and effective problem-solving skills. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrate commitment to excellence and life-long learning. \xc2\xb7 Experience, knowledge and/or interest in the outdoor power equipment industry (an asset).
