Halifax Seed -- a family business with 160 years of delivering products that support the horticulture and turf industries in Atlantic Canada -- is hiring a

Distribution Manager

for our Debert location. You'll oversee the daily warehouse operations from our regional hub, managing high-volume order fulfillment and ensuring timely delivery to customers, retailers, and our own Retail Stores.

This is a hands-on leadership role with real visibility, designed for someone who thrives on ownership, accountability, and building operational efficiencies -- all within a company that values people, purpose, and pride in doing things right!

What You'll Be Responsible For:

Reporting directly to the Chief Procurement Officer, with the autonomy to lead day-to-day distribution operations while collaborating across departments. Managing a complex fulfillment operation Overseeing outbound coordination -- ensuring accurate, on-time delivery to customers across Atlantic Canada Leading inventory control efforts -- from daily accuracy to year-end counts and reconciliations As the branch's Safety Liaison, you'll uphold OHS, AWSA, and Halifax Seed safety protocols Ensuring the facility is in good working order Working cross-functionally -- collaborating with purchasing, sales, retail, and senior operations teams across branches Leading a small, high-functioning team Stepping in when needed -- lending a hand with shipping, receiving, or dock work when the situation calls for it

What You Bring:

Training Provided On-site

Several years of experience managing warehouse or distribution operations Confidence using inventory software, Excel, and Outlook A valid driver's license Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Forklift certification (or willingness to get certified) Working knowledge of WHMIS, TDG, OHS, or AWSA guidelines is a strong asset
