Job Summary

Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Distribution Analysts, we'd ask you to do the following for us:

  • Lead analysis and prioritization of growth opportunities for responsible categories, suppliers, and customers.
  • Develop tools and processes that drive value in contracting, conversion, and revenue generation.
  • Support the Distribution Manager and Category Team with ad hoc analysis, market trends, marketing/communication opportunities and opportunity analysis.
  • Act as liaison for customer/sector service level issues and improvements.
  • Support the development of category plans, joint business plans/reviews for key strategic partnerships.
  • Prepare supplier and category analyses and senior management presentation materials.
  • Support Distribution Team with forecasting and tracking against budget. As requested by your manager, conduct income analysis, make forecast changes, or perform any other duties supporting category income drivers.
  • Support team in managing the rollout, implementation and communication of new programs or program changes adhering to Foodbuy processes and timelines.
  • Preparation of supplier, category, product, and pricing analyses, proactively identify opportunities and make recommendations as they relate to contract coverage, conversion opportunities, term-set consolidation, pricing/VA, new programs, and contracts.
  • Manage Distributor Scorecard reporting for distribution; this will include evaluating the existing scorecard platform and revising it based on need and contractual requirements - ability to hold distributors accountable on key initiatives.
  • Assist with all coordination of distributor meetings, general system maintenance and special projects, as assigned.
  • As directed by manager, lead strategic relationship for niche distribution partners, optimizing contract relationship, facilitating business planning, and identifying partnership activities.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 1 to 3 years related experience required; experience executing defined projects, performing analytics and project management are critical to success in this role.
  • High degree of experience utilizing Excel applications. Power BI proficiency will increase the effectiveness of a person in this position.
  • Experience utilizing Supply Chain and Bravo, preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; significant related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Business analysis - Clarifies and resolves complex business issues and opportunities by breaking down large amounts of data to determine route cause or resolution / improvement.
  • Communication - Strong written and verbal communication skills; be able to translate analysis into concise executive summaries for Distribution Team.
  • Must be adaptable to change and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Flexible and capable of handling and completing multiple competing tasks and priorities.
  • Analytical and effectively applies common sense to analysis.
  • A great attitude - flexibility, optimism, resourcefulness, and transparency.
  • Organized and a high attention to detail.
