Dispatcher

on a permanent basis at our Distribution Centre in S

askatoon, SK

.

Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.


This position requires on-site work and on-call rotation.


What you'll do:



You will coordinate the movement of products to regions and retail cooperatives via FCL truck and/or common carrier, monitor daily logs and effectively dispatch units within legislated guideline, and coordinate terminal services operators' daily duties and ensure all enclosures are picked up. You will originate FCL truck manifests and trip reports as required; process these documents as required. You will help to coordinate the repair and maintenance of FCL equipment. You will set up and coordinate region merchandise distribution programs as required and will communicate late runs and schedule changes to necessary audience. You will provide back-up to other Transportation departments as required. You will work closely with SCSC and customers on short or missing product and delivery of late and rush orders and will set up special shipping schedules when required. You will audit daily outbound FCL bills of lading and follow-up with customers as required. You will process common carrier invoices as required and fulfill other duties as assigned. Other logistics clerical duties as assigned.

The Team:

You will work closely with a team of dispatchers and logistics clerk and will report into the Supervisor, Route Planning. This team strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration and dedication.


The Collaborators:

You will work closely with other functions in our Supply Chain business unit and collaborate across the organization with teams such as Transportation and Supply Chain Support Centre, Fleet Services, and the Warehouse.


The Customers:

You will demonstrate customer focus while supporting local Co-ops to ensure they have insight into any late runs and/or schedule changes.

Who you are:



You are looking for a career in Supply Chain and:


You have either: + Dispatcher I:
- High school education
- One year related freight or dispatch experience
+ Dispatcher II:
- High school education
- CITT Core Courses completed, or completion of 4 relevant post-secondary


courses, preferably Supply Chain or Business Admin related
- Two years related freight or dispatch experience
+ Dispatcher III:
- High school education
- CITT program completed, or completion of a relevant 1 year Post Secondary


Certificate program, preferably Supply Chain or Business Admin related
- Three years related freight or dispatch experience
+ Note: A combination of other work experience or education may be considered.
You're honest and trustworthy, are results oriented and strive to be the best in what you do. You believe in collaboration, building relationships and value the perspectives of others. Requires intermediate computer skills related to use of Microsoft Office applications. Preference will be given to candidates with FCL Systems Experience (e.g. OTM, Priya, Mainframe).
