Job Description

We are currently searching for a dynamic Dispatcher to join our Montreal office. Reporting to the Inland Operations Manager, the dispatcher ensures smooth operations with the owner operators & service providers. He handles the dispatch, monitor operations (pickup and delivery), and manage invoicing, all related to activities. He/she also coordinates and controls the movement of trucks and drivers to and from the Bickerdike and/or Fairview Cove Terminal, respecting sailing schedules as efficiently as possible, in accordance with established procedures.
Tasks and responsibilities

• Oversee customer booking data in order to provide accurate information to the Drivers.
• Monitor and control movement of all carriers to ensure compliance with schedules.
• Coordinate and plan the movements of all drivers and carriers to ensure compliance with schedules.
• Ensure equipment availability and interact with the Customer Service Department.
• Provide the data required for the establishment of rates to the Pricing Department, as needed.
• Monitor and control movements.
• Interact weekly with the Accounts Payable Department on brokers' charges.
• Respond daily to requirements from Compliance Service.
• Replace other members of the dispatch team when they are on vacation.
• Be on duty one quarter of the time, nights and weekends.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation.
• Computer literate.
• Bilingualism (French and English).

• Autonomy.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Detail and deadline oriented.
