Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations within our logistics team. The ideal candidate will manage freight movements, optimize routes, and ensure timely delivery by utilizing advanced transportation management systems. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in data entry, and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently. The Dispatcher will play a critical role in maintaining smooth supply chain operations and supporting fleet management activities.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Utilize GIS and GPS tools for route planning and transportation analysis to optimize delivery efficiency. Manage dispatching activities for fleet vehicles, ensuring adherence to schedules and delivery deadlines. Monitor shipment statuses, update tracking information, and communicate with drivers, carriers, and customers via multi-line phone systems. Maintain accurate data entry related to shipping & receiving, freight documentation, and logistics records including AS400 systems. Support shipping & receiving operations by coordinating pickups, deliveries, and warehouse activities. Assist with supply chain analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards while managing freight movements. Provide excellent phone etiquette and communication skills when interacting with internal teams and external partners.

Requirements

Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine. Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, logistics, transportation planning, and fleet management. Familiarity with supply chain processes, 3PL operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and freight coordination. Excellent analysis skills to interpret data related to transportation efficiency and logistics performance. Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and managing multi-line phone systems. Effective communication skills with the ability to handle dispatching tasks professionally over the phone and in writing. Experience working with transportation management tools like AS400 or similar platforms is preferred. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
