We are currently searching for a dynamic Dispatch Supervisor / NL Logistics at our St. John\xe2\x80\x99s terminal. Reporting to the Manager, NL Inland Operations, the Dispatch Supervisor / NL Logistics is responsible for all daily aspects of the company\xe2\x80\x99s day-to-day Dispatch Center located in St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, Newfoundland as well as provide supervision to the LTL Coordinator. He or she works with the assistance of a team of logistic planners and dispatchers. Tasks and responsibilities
Act as front-line supervisor for designated dispatch staff
Will be responsible for the daily operations of the St. John\xe2\x80\x99s Dispatch center including:
Ensuring that all dispatchers receive training required to complete their daily dispatcher tasks
Establish, monitor, and report on dispatch KPI\xe2\x80\x99s
Complete annual performance evaluations on all dispatchers
Work with the NL Inland Manger to create workflow processes for all aspects of the NL Dispatch system
Establish an effective work schedule for all dispatchers
Monitor and validate the accuracy of entries made by dispatchers into the computerized dispatch system, AS400
Will provide assistance The Inland Trucking Supervisor and NL Inland Manager to ensure that company is compliant with all Transportation regulations and the Canada Labour Code
Ensuring that all deliveries are performed in a timely and cost-efficient manner while promoting the highest levels of customer satisfaction and on time performance.
Provide direct supervision to the LTL Coordinator; ensure all their KPIs are met and tasks completed.
Manage strategic partnership with our NL LTL agent and ensure that all qualitative and quantitative metrics are met. Provide guidance and support to the LTL staff to meet client transportation needs as promised and address any shortcomings or complaints as they arise.
Will be responsible for providing back-up for dispatchers who may be off on vacation or sick leave
Provide assistance as required to the NL Trucking Supervisor and NL Inland operations during vacation periods
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Post secondary diploma in a related discipline (logistics, administration, operations) or equivalent combination of experience and education
Minimum of 5 years experience in inland transportation
Management experience in a unionized environment is an asset
Computer literate.

Ability to work autonomously with little direct supervision.
