We are seeking an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to oversee daily transportation operations within our logistics team. The ideal candidate will coordinate freight movements, manage shipping and receiving activities, and ensure efficient communication across departments. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with various transportation management systems to support seamless supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate dispatch activities for freight shipments, ensuring timely delivery and pickup schedules.
Utilize transportation management systems such as AS400,Load Link,Dat and other TMS platforms to plan routes, track shipments, and optimize logistics processes.
Oversee shipping & receiving operations, maintaining accurate records of all transactions through data entry and analysis.
Manage communication with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette to resolve issues promptly.
Monitor supply chain activities related to 3PL providers and freight carriers to ensure compliance with company standards.
Analyze shipping data to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements in all dispatch activities.
Provide leadership and training to dispatch staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Skills
Proficiency with transportation management systems such as SyteLine, AS400, and other TMS platforms.
Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight management, and shipping & receiving procedures.
Experience working with 3PL providers and managing freight operations.
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; ability to handle large volumes of information efficiently.
Analytical skills to interpret logistics data and recommend improvements.
Effective communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal/written correspondence.
Typing skills for quick data entry and multi-line phone system operation.
