SUMMARY:

The position gathers, coordinates, and tracks receipt of freight information necessary for receiving and delivering shipments while auditing for accuracy and processing import bills in a timely manner: Responsible for verifying and auditing bills to ensure trucks are received and shipped according to standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets and directs transport drivers and directs them to the proper dock door according to their scheduled appointment time
  • Maintains monthly inbound and outbound summary reports listing details of all shipments handled by each carrier
  • Prepares BOL for outbound shipments scheduled for pickup.
  • Completes vendor load sheets and have number assigned. Input into carrier note file.
  • Reviews and records carrier freight, bill number and date of receipt on tracing sheet.
  • Provides back up support in the department as needed.
  • Do clerical work
  • Promotes a clean, safe and positive work environment.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 3 years of experience in a 3PL warehouse/transportation environment
  • 1-2 year of experience in an office environment
  • Minimum of 1 year experience on a combination of the following forklift equipment; Raymond Reach, Dock Stocker, Counterbalance, Order Picker and/or Walkie.

EDUCATION
  • High school education or equivalent. Post Secondary education preferred.
  • Working towards a logistics management certificate program preferred.
