Founded in 1970, Steele Hotels is an independent hotel operator based out of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada. With origins in Gander, NL the company has grown to include 8 properties located in St. John's, NL, Corner Brook, NL, and Fredericton, NB.

Steele Hotels is looking for a full-time

Dishwasher-Steward

to join its growing team at our JAG Hotel in St. John's, NL The ideal candidate would possess a positive "can-do" attitude, and a high level of professionalism, coupled with a strong work ethic and critical thinking skills. This often involves working in fast-paced environment conditions at varying times throughout the day or night.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

:

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing and equipment cleaning Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines Assist with general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and polishing in the restaurant, bar, and kitchen areas Stock serving stations with necessary items such as napkins, utensils, trays, and condiments; and support wait staff with service tasks, as needed Address guest inquiries and direct urgent requests to the Supervisor or Manager Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

Experience as a Steward, Dishwasher, Server, or a similar role in customer service role is an asset Completion of the Safe Food Handling certificate, or willingness to obtain Thorough knowledge of industry standards for hygiene and safety regulations Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask Ability to work well both independently and as a part of a team
